What i consider as a challenge may not be the same for you. But no matter how big or small your challenges may be, it is the necessary spice needed to make life fun!

I often times want to give up in the face of my challenges but the taste and pleasure of victory spurs me on! Often times farmers are looked down upon and little do people understand that they are one of the people we all should learn from.

A farmer understands the principles of sowing and reaping, but little do we. A lot of people most especially christians think sowing is all about giving offerings and giving money in church but it involves much more than that!

A farmer knows that once he plants/ sows a seed he is definitely going to harvest much more than he planted/sowed. Its his joy to plant as he knows his riches lie in what he plants/sows!

Isnt it funny to note that a lot of us fail to recognise that as we live daily we sow seeds and would definitely reap our harvests sometime soon!!! We go about life not realizing that life itself is a fertile ground as we sow various seeds and are bound to reap our harvest!.

If you sow Love into the life of those you meet along your soujourn here on earth you are bound to reap a great harvest of love! If you sow mercy dont you think your harvest of mercy will be bountiful? I could go on and on about the various things we sow as we cast our seeds on life's ground!

From experience i can talk boldly about this as i am yet to smile to a person and get a frown (I actually smile a lot ). When i smile at people, using the principle of the farmer, what i am doing is sowing a smile and guess what? I always (more often than not) get a smile back. Therefore the principle of sowing cannot be ignored as we live our lives.

Whatsoever you do to your neighbour can be regarded as sowing and you are bound to reap a bountiful harvest of whatever it is you have sown into that person's life!

See Clearly With The Aid of the Binoculars: Be careful what you sow as you are bound to harvest much more than you plant. Learn from the farmers and work hard at planting the right seeds you would be happy to harvest!

Discipline

Its 5:30am in the morning and i know i need to get up, (i pinch myself severally) get up girl ! get up!!, i tell myself. I open my eyes and Oh my gosh!!! my eyes are no longer obeying me, they close back and i drift into another session of sleep.

I get a very good book to read, I start and feel like i wont stop reading until i get to the last page but after a few days of so much struggle i put an end to my reading and spend my free/spare time doing what?!!!!!!!!!!!! (search me, I dont really know). I stopped reading a book that would have helped me gain more knowledge on some issues of life.

I look in the mirror and tell myself " you need to form the habbit of exercising" it sounds so good to me and i draw up a plan, (I just cant seem to find the plan!!!!!!!!!!!!!!). I bet you know what that means.......... (i didn't get to use it).

I get some money and i tell myself "girl you need to save or invest in some stuff. At that point when i'm layig up plans to do something productive with the money, I impulsively buy something i never planned to buy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

I could go on and on about the numerous things i planned to do but didnt get to do. I know a lot of you are at this point or may have passed this stage ( if u have passed this stage, why dont u post a commment on how u did it) Share with others who read this blog!!

Discipline is the key to getting out of this situation. Do what you have to do when you have to do it without procastinating. Discipline acccording to the Websters Dictionary can be defined as "training to improve strength or self-control" . To be successful in life we all have to exercise self control which in other words is discipline.

See Clearly with the aid of the Binoculars: You can be all you want to be provided you exercise self control and disciplne.

(To be Continued)

We Can't Keep Running Away

No body was born without a responsibility or assignment. We've all got one thing or the other we're destined to do. Some people are making impact in life while some are not. Those who are not making any impact have chosen not to. So many people have passed through life, but only a tiny fraction of those who have moved to the other side made and are still making impact in this world.(people like Mother Theresa would forever be remembered though she's moved on and yet she is still making impact in life, likewise Martin Luther King) while some one like Joseph Blue(who is that?!!!!!) cannot be remembered by anybody because he didnt affect any life before passing on.

You may be wondering "who gives two hoots?" well i do and so does your creator! We cant keep running away from that which we have been called to do. I cannot afford to leave this world without being remembered for something positive. There are so many things around us that are calling for a change, if we open our eyes and our hearts we would see them and contribute our own quota .

My country NIGERIA calls for a change and i have made up my mind to contribute positively to changing her for the better. I have decided to make it my responsibility. If we both decide to make a positive impact in changing my beloved country Nigeria don't you think the upcoming generation would have some thing to thank God for?

We cant keep running away from our responsibility. If we dont do what we can and push it unto others to do, that means we are depriving generations yet unborn of what they should enjoy and give praise to God for.( Imagine if Martin Luther King hadnt made it his responsibility to fight for the liberation of Black Americans, wouldnt they still be under humilation now?).

See Clearly with the aid of the Binoculars: You Can't keep running away, take up your responsibility and contribute your own quota in making this World a better place. (Nigerians reading this, Dont run away from your own country, contribute your own quota too and let the upcoming generation have something to praise God for.

We dont want WANNABES

Do you know that no two people are exactly alike, everybody is unique and different from each other. Even identical twins who look alike physically differ in their personalities and are unique in their own different and special ways.

What is personality? It is that which constitutes distinction of person; individuality or can be described as a person's UNIQUE characteristics or trait.

Everybody has got a personality and that is what makes you unique and different from others. Failure to appreciate and love your uniqueness, is failure to love your personality and self.

There was a time in my life when i didnt appreciate myself and my uniqueness, i didnt appreciate what made me different from others. I always tried to be somebody else i didnt love me for me. i failed to see that i've got my own thing going on. I was wasting away gradually.

So many people are like that (you could be one of them) they don't love their uniqueness and they always try to be other people. Permit me to say this: the best you can be is the greatest WANNABE! and not who you have been created to be. You would be an echo and not a voice, you would be a shadow and not an original. Why try to be somebody else when the whole world needs YOU. Your UNIQUENESS is the spice we need in this world.

See clearly with the help of the Binoculars: Those things like your talents, mannerisms, gifts, height, looks, body build, e.t.c that makes you different from others, begin to appreciate them who knows they could be the things that would catapult you into your destiny. You choose to believe you are inferior then so it is. No man is inferior to the other. It has nothing to do with your looks neither does it have anything to do with your financial or social status. Because someone is Ugly and poor is not a good enough reason for him/her to feel inferior.

Have'nt you heard or seen wealthy men who have inferiority compex and a poverty stricken man with a very good self esteem? It is all a thing of the mind. It starts with your thoughts, (read my previous post on thoughts) then moves the next level of you believing and accepting you are the negative thoughts. This later forms your belief about who you think you are!

I know there are times when we get all so unsure of who we are or what we can do, but that is not a solid reason for feeling inferior. Our weakness is not enough reason for us to feel inferior. No matter the number of weaknesses i've got, i've also got quite a number of STRENGHTS.

Because you stammer, and i am fat or because you have one bad eye and i limp (fill in the space with your weaknesses and imperfections) is not enough reason for either of us to feel inferior to others.

The people we feel inferior to also have their own flaws and imperfections so WAKE up and cast away those feelings of inferiority and insecurity and begin to appreciate yourself for who you are. You are unique in your own way.

See clearly with the help of the Binoculars: You are beautiful and wonderful the way you are. The question I'd like to ask (I am asking myself the same question too) is what are your thoughts? Are they clean, pure, lovely, true e.t.c. or are they nasty,dirty............?

Imagine if your thoughts were to be played for all to see as a movie, would you be proud of them? I know there are times when good thoughts seem so faraway from us,but that's no excuse because we have the power to choose whatsoever we think about.

Joyce Meyer in her book "battlefield of the mind" said " You cannot have a positive life and a negative mind". Our Thoughts make us.

See clearly with the aid of the Binoculars: Right thinking is vital to victorious living, Get more serious about what you are thinking about and choose your thoughts carefully, as your thoughts would determine how far you would go in life. You are what you think!

The Power of the Human Mind

Yesterday night before i went to bed i read a book by Joyce Meyer" Battlefield Of the Mind" and was greatly blessed. She made me see the importance and power of the Human mind. Coincidentally, my number one, my Angel and the love of my life sent me this beautiful testimony or should i say true life experience and i decided to post it here for you to read.

It is mind blowing and im sure by the time you finish reading it you would just like me decide to invest more on your mind.

It was the most surprising visit of the year. It was a Saturday evening, at about 5.30 p.m. I was putting my luggage together getting ready to go to the Murtala Mohammed International Airport to check in. I was billed to travel to London that evening. Suddenly I had a gentle knock on the door and my daughter rushed in to inform me that I had a visitor.

Guess who was at the door? My millionaire mentor! I was confused. How did he know this place? Is this his ghost or himself? I really never expected him to ever come to my place. He noticed the confusion in my mood. I welcomed him in and offered him a seat. But he simply asked me to lead him to my study. I did. He did not say much; he just looked around the place carefully, examining my collection of books.

“This is not bad”, he muttered as he further examined my bookshelves. There were few books I had packed on the floor to take along with me to London. My friend’s attention caught one of them, Think Big by Ben Carson. Have you read this book? My friend asked and I answered in the negative, informing him I had just bought it. “Read it, and also get his first book, Gifted Hands; they will do amazing things to your mind”, my friend said as he hinted he would be leaving. He refused to take the drink I offered him. I accompanied him to his car; he drove himself off from my sight. I stood there still wondering…

I could not describe the feeling that overwhelmed me inside the plane as I read Think Big. The book is an extra ordinary rendition by Ben Carson of how he transformed himself from a “ghetto kid to the most celebrated paediatric neurosurgeon in the world.” By simply reading two books a week as instructed by his illiterate mother!

I was fired up. I did what I considered impulsive when I was returning to Nigeria. I withdrew a substantial amount of money from my account and went straight to Waterstones (formerly Dillon’s), my favourite bookshop in London. I simply invaded the shop, picking books at sight that I considered to be of interest. I was able to fill two big boxes with assorted books.

In Nigeria, I drove straight to my millionaire friend’s place from the airport. I was there ten minutes after my normal appointment time. He led me to the study and the lesson for the month was about to start in earnest. I gave him a gift of some new titles from the collection I had noticed in his library. He was quite appreciative of the gesture and told me that one day, I would understand the role of the gift in my lessons.

“By the way, what have you made of the topic we treated last month? Have you considered the materials from Murdock and Adeyemi that I sent to you”? my friend asked in quick succession, as he walked up to his notice board to paste this quotation: “Every man who knows how to read has it in his power to magnify himself, to multiply the way in which he exists, to make his life full, significant and interesting.”.

I told him I was greatly moved by his rendition of last week’s topic. I told him that I am familiar with the authors of the books he gave to me. I have followed Adeyemi’s Success Power series religiously. I finished his Strong Desire in less than ten minutes and was inspired by the message, which is this: That a strong desire can command any miracle into existence.

I first encountered Mike Murdock three years back through his cassette entitled Seven Ingredients of a Perfect Day, which a friend gave to me. It is a powerful material and it richly blessed me. From then on I desired to know more about the man. I bought many of his books and I continued to dream of meeting him in real life.

Something surprising to me happened. Murdock was in Nigeria sometime in July 2001 to speak at a seminar organised by Winners Business Fellowship. Guess what? I was selected to join two pastors in the church studio to interview him. I was excited. After the interview, he collected my business card. In exchange, he gave me his phone number and a private e-mail, which he said he had so far given to only 15 individuals worldwide. We have been in good contact ever since then. I did a beautiful newspaper piece on him later and despatched few copies to him in Dallas, Texas United States of America.

Surprise number two: Shortly before the interview, I was privileged to be invited by Bishop David Oyedepo into his guesthouse at Canaan land where he shared some success tips with me. The tips have been ingrained in my spirit ever since. Dream comes true? Yes, of course! I met my dream models in a single day.

My friend was inspired by my testimony.

“That is quite interesting. That means we can proceed to the next lesson, which is this: Treat Your Mind as Your Most Important Asset. When I came to your house last week, were you surprised that I went straight to your study? If I did not like what I saw, I probably would have discontinued the capsules I have been giving you. Your mind is the only thing that I consider indispensable in your quest for wealth. Monuments can fall, properties can be destroyed, cars can be stolen, businesses can go bankrupt, beauty can fade but once your mind is intact and sound, you have everything it takes to make money. “Mental excellence is permanent.”

“I am amazed by what we attach value to in this part of the world. Let me illustrate this with personal experience. About seven years back, some heavily armed men invaded my house, ransacked every where. They carted away everything in sight – television, cars, jewels, money and any other thing they fancied. They went to my study and took all fanciful things there. They even carried my reading lamp! You know what! They left all my books intact. How stupid! To me, my books are my priciest possession. I would have been greatly disturbed if they had stolen my books and left my other possession.

“But today, every single item they stole has been replaced. Informed millionaires spend a large part of their time reading and analysing good books because they know that books are the best sources of insights and creative money ideas. Read, read, and read everything in sight, you will find it useful one day.

I am amazed when I hear some people say they over read. There is nothing like that. You cannot over-read! Do you know that this wonderful machine called brain has 24 billion cells? I have not come across any computer that can perform the task a brain can perform. Your brain is elastic. Just like you go to the gym to exercise your muscle, insightful reading helps to stretch your brain and renew your mind. Try to meditate on what the bible says: I am fearfully and wonderfully made.

Reading is the best way I learn. Others learn through observation and other methods. Whatever method is convenient for you, you have to stretch your mind. Reading is a leveller. This is how I read. I consider every book as formulae. If I want to know anything about investment, I simply buy about six good books on the subject. After reading the books, I quickly put into practice the insights I gained from them. I have explained to you about my educational background. My dad could not sponsor my education beyond the secondary school level. All my educational achievement today came by way of personal study and development.

I believe very sincerely that anybody can become whatever he wants to become by insightful learning. As someone said, reading is the solution to racial prejudice. I agree with him absolutely. Even if you come from a poor background, once you have superior insights into a problem, people must listen to you. This is guaranteed.

The mystery about good wealth is that you can only have it in proportion to the level of development that has taken place inside. In wealth acquisition, you can’t travel faster outside than the speed of your race inside. God knows that if you get wealth that is more than your level of spiritual development, you are going to mess everything up. A fool and his money would soon be parted. If you want to acquire lasting riches, work on your inside. Read the books millionaires have written, listen to audio and video cassettes they have put together, attend seminars and workshops on personal financial management.

By doing this, you are investing in your most important asset, that is, your mind. I see people walk into restaurants and blow N3, 000 on a meal. Six hours later, everything is out of their system. Amazingly, these same people are not willing to invest N1, 500 (the cost of a telephone recharge card) on good books that can change their lives forever.

My advice to you as I close this lesson is: Do everything possible to read at least one book a week and cut off from friends who are averse to reading. If you must starve to read, do so. If you must let go momentary pleasure to read, do so. If you must withdraw from your savings to buy good books, please do so. You can’t be an insightful reader and not stand out from the crowd. Besides, life of abundance is just by the corner if you persist in reading.

“Enough for today”. “Next month, we are going to do a memory exercise. This is the key in your quest for wealth. It will last for approximately eight hours. Be prepared. Don’t take heavy food.”

As usual, we both walked together to my car, and I bade him good-bye.

See clearly with the Binoculars: Wake up, the time is now for you to invest in your mind. If your mind is right, your life would be right.

The Right Attitude

I am sure you are eager to know what the right attitude is. Let me illustrate with this story:

A well-known speaker started off his seminar by holding up a $20.00 bill. In the room of 200, he asked, "Who would like this $20 bill?" Hands started going up. He said, "I am going to give this $20 to one of you but first, let me do this. He proceeded to crumple up the $20 dollar bill. He then asked, "Who still wants it?" Still the hands were up in the air. Well, he replied, "What if I do this?" And he dropped it on the ground and started to grind it into the floor with his shoe. He picked it up, now crumpled and dirty. "Now, who still wants it?" Still the hands went into the air. My friends, we have all learned a very valuable lesson. No matter what I did to the money, you still wanted it because it did not decrease in value. It was still worth $20. Many times in our lives, we are dropped, crumpled, and ground into the dirt by the decisions we make and the circumstances that come our way. We feel as though we are worthless. But no matter what has happened or what will happen, you will never lose your value. Dirty or clean, crumpled or finely creased, you are still priceless to those who DO LOVE you. The worth of our lives comes not in what we do or who we know, but by WHO WE ARE. You are special- Don't EVER forget it." And remember: amateurs built the ark ... professionals built the Titanic. If God brings you to it - He will bring you through it.

No matter what you face or go through in life, whether good or bad you are still valuable. Dont be weighed down by your failures and inadequacies. We all fall sometimes. Thats why we're humanbeings.

See with the help of the binoculars: The right attitude is to get back up everytime you fall and to know that there is a better tomorrow. Dont give up on yourself, Life would always get better provided you give yourself a chance. You are Valuable regardless of the personal struggles you are contending with.

Our Personal Struggles

Everybody, regardless of their age, status and race has got a personal struggle or something they would love to improve upon or make better in their life.

So many people give up and never get the chance to taste victory. While some fight with all their strength and even in the face of opposition maintain their stand on not giving up. The difference between the two categories of people is their attitude.

We are never to give up on ourselves, we can always be better than we are today provided we have the right attitude to life.

As Humans, we all at one point or the other would face challenges and overcoming them is what makes life fun and intersting. Even animals overcome the challenges they face how much more we humans. We have a higher reasoning ability and therefore more is expected from us.

See clearly as you would with the help of the binoculars : The personal struggles you are contending with right now can be won by you if only you have the right attitude. Dont give up on yourself, cultivate the right attitude and you'd be amazed at the results you would get.

What is the right attitude? (find out in my next posting).
